A 6 Step HoneyBook Setup Checklist

1. Decide on a Plan

So you’ve landed on HoneyBook as the CRM of choice for a wedding or creative industry business. The very first step of your HoneyBook setup checklist will be to decide on a plan. HoneyBook currently offers three different plans. The starter, the essentials, and the premium. You can see a full breakdown of each plan, including pricing, at this link. But, if you’re a solopreneur you’ll more than likely go with the starter. Do you have a few team members who will need access to HoneyBook? The essentials plan will be the one for you! 2. Import Your Brand Materials

Now that you’re officially in, the next item on your HoneyBook setup checklist will be importing your brand materials. HoneyBook allows flexibility for small business owners to customize key touchpoints within their CRM. As a small business owner in the creative industry, how amazing is that?! This allows you to create a branded experience for your clients from the time they inquire, all the way up to “payment received”! To important your brand materials you will access your HoneyBook account through your company settings. Here you can upload your logo or submark, set your brand color palette, and select branded fonts. The final step of branding your HoneyBook account will be to integrate your business email. 

3. Link to Your Business Bank Account

You might’ve decided on HoneyBook purely as an all-in-one way to contract and invoice your clients. If that’s the case, this step will be crucial for automating the payment process of your client workflow. You can easily connect your business bank account to HoneyBook, through your company settings. This allows your clients to easily submit payments via credit card or ACH payments. 4. Add Your Packages

Already have your packages listed on your website? Perfection! Bringing that information over to your HoneyBook account is a critical step of this setup checklist. Adding your pre-structured (and pre-priced!) packages to your HoneyBook account will allow you to quickly organize clients by project type. Additionally, you’ll be able to setup HoneyBook automations based on leads who inquire about a specific service or package. Your packages can be added to your HoneyBook account under, you guessed it company settings!

5. Templates

I’m going to make this step of your HoneyBook setup checklist, crazy easy! The first step is to grab your fully customizable templates, here. Once your templates are fully on brand, they can be uploaded to HoneyBook by accessing their free file setup service. Boom, done! Can you manually create your templates within HoneyBook? If that is your preference, absolutely, yes.

6. Automations

As a small business owner in the creative industry, I understand the driving need to sometimes DIY the things in our business.
