What is HoneyBook?
HoneyBook is an all-in-one client management platform (often called a CRM) built for independent service businesses. Instead of stitching together a contract tool, an invoicing app, a scheduler and your inbox, it puts the entire client journey in one place.
From the moment someone inquires, HoneyBook handles the lead capture, the branded proposal, the contract with a legal e-signature, the invoice and online payments, the scheduler, and the automated emails that move each booking forward. It works on the web and through a genuinely good mobile app, so you can send a contract or take a payment from your phone.
I've set up HoneyBook for hundreds of businesses, and the reason it keeps winning is simple: it removes the busywork between booking a client and getting paid. Fewer tabs, fewer dropped leads, and a client experience that feels polished without you touching it every time.
Who it's a great fit for
- Wedding & event professionals: planners, photographers, florists, venues, caterers, beauty teams
- Coaches, consultants and creatives who send proposals and contracts
- Anyone juggling invoicing, scheduling and client emails across too many apps
Who might want something else
- Product/e-commerce businesses that don't book clients one-to-one
- Teams that need deep, enterprise-grade project management over client workflow
Pricing & the discount
What HoneyBook costs, and what 50% off really means.
HoneyBook has three plans. Your first year is half price on whichever one you choose, then it renews at the standard rate. Plans get cheaper when billed annually.
Plans, features and list prices are set by HoneyBook and current as of 2026, so always check HoneyBook for the latest. The 50% off applies to your first year through the link on this page, and there's also a 7-day free trial with no card required.
My honest take
What I love, and what to know going in.
What I love
- Truly all-in-one. Proposals, contracts, invoices, scheduling and automations under one roof. It replaces several subscriptions.
- The client experience looks expensive. Branded files and a smooth booking flow make small businesses feel established.
- Automations that actually save hours. Inquiry replies, follow-ups and reminders run themselves once set up.
- Get paid faster. Online payments, payment plans and auto-reminders mean fewer awkward "just checking in" emails.
- Genuinely good mobile app and responsive support.
What to know
- There's a setup curve. The power is in the templates and automations, and a blank account takes time to build. (This is exactly what I help with.)
- It's built for client work. If you don't send proposals or book clients one-to-one, you may not use its best features.
- Payment processing fees apply like any platform that takes card payments.
- Renews at full price after your discounted first year, so it's worth budgeting for.
My rating: 4.8 / 5. The setup curve is the only real catch, and it's a one-time cost. It's the whole reason I built Stackd, the system that takes the guesswork out of getting set up.
HoneyBook vs Dubsado
How it compares to the other big name.
Dubsado is the closest alternative. Both are excellent, so here's how I'd frame the choice for a wedding or event pro.
| HoneyBook | Dubsado | |
|---|---|---|
| Ease of setup | ✓ Faster, friendlier | Steeper, more manual |
| Design polish | ✓ Beautiful out of the box | Functional, less designed |
| Automations | ✓ Smart & visual | Powerful, more technical |
| Payments & mobile app | ✓ Excellent app | Web-first |
| Free trial | 7 days, no card | 3 clients free, no time limit |
| Best for | Most service & event pros | Tinkerers who want max control |
My take: if you want it set up beautifully and running quickly, HoneyBook wins for most people, and the 50% off first year makes it an easy yes to try.

Questions
HoneyBook discount FAQ.
Is there a HoneyBook promo code?
You don't need to type a code. Signing up through the link on this page applies 50% off your first year automatically at checkout. It's the same best-available offer a code would give you, just built into the link.
How much is HoneyBook after the discount?
HoneyBook has three plans (Starter, Essentials and Premium) and billing annually is cheaper than monthly. With 50% off, you pay roughly half the normal rate for your first 12 months, then it renews at standard pricing. Check HoneyBook for current list prices, as they set them.
Does HoneyBook have a free trial?
Yes, 7 days free with no credit card required. You can build out your account and send test files before paying, and still apply the 50% off when you subscribe.
Is HoneyBook worth it?
If you book clients one-to-one and send proposals, contracts or invoices, HoneyBook usually pays for itself in saved time and faster payments, since it replaces several separate tools. If you don't do client work, you may not use its best features.
